When it comes to creating the perfect atmosphere for live music, it’s all in the details. And one of the most important details is the stage design. We recently worked with Upstaging on the final details of the amphitheater at Four Seasons Resort in Lanai City, Hawaii. The stage blends in seamlessly with the beautiful Hawaiian landscape to provide a memorable concert experience for the 600 music fans it hosts.

The Perfect Match

40 VISUALS provided a 49-foot mesh vinyl for the area between the elevated stage and the ground. This vinyl was precisely color matched to the woodgrain pattern of the existing columns to create a cohesive stage design. Due to variations in print media, our graphic design and print team had to take many factors into consideration, such as different white points and color profiles used by other printers, to ensure a perfect match to the provided material. This typically involves a series of test prints, comparing them to the original, until the color is consistent.

The mesh vinyl was used to cover the stage support structures and speakers located underneath the stage facing the audience. The sound-transparent nature of the mesh vinyl ensured that the stage’s sound quality was not affected. Additionally, the mesh vinyl allowed for the ocean breezes to pass through without showing the space under the stage or risk being damaged by wind.

The mesh vinyl print was color-matched to the woodgrain pattern of the existing columns (samples shown).

Mesh vinyl is a popular material used in the production of signs and banners because of its durability, versatility and cost-effectiveness. It is made of a woven material that allows for wind to pass through, making it an ideal choice for outdoor signs and banners that may be exposed to windy conditions. It is also ideal for music and speaking venues because the mesh material allows sound to pass through. It can be printed on with high-quality, full-color graphics, making it perfect for music halls, retail stores, construction sites, trade shows and many other applications.
