What You Need to Know

Apple and Formula 1 announced a five-year deal that makes Apple TV the exclusive US home for all F1 races starting next year. Apple TV will stream every practice, qualifying, Sprint session and Grand Prix. Select races and all practice sessions will be free in the Apple TV app. F1 TV Premium will be available only through an Apple TV subscription and will be included at no extra cost for subscribers. Apple will also surface F1 content across Apple News, Maps, Music, and Apple Fitness+. The free Apple Sports iPhone app will provide live updates, real-time leaderboards, season standings, Lock Screen Live Activities, and a Home Screen widget so you can follow races as they happen.

The deal follows the global success of F1 The Movie, which grossed $629 million and will stream on Apple TV on December 12, 2025. Formula 1 says the sport continues to grow in the US, reaching 52 million fans in 2024 and attracting younger and more female viewers. You can expect Apple and F1 to announce production details and additional viewing features in the coming months.
