What You Need to Know
Krispy Kreme opened its first Hot Light Theater Shop in Madrid on October 2, 2025, through a joint venture with Glaseados Originales S.L. The company will add two more Madrid shops before year-end and plans to open more than 50 locations across Spain over the next four years, including five Hot Light Theater Shops that will act as retail sites and production hubs. You will see expansion across cities such as Barcelona, Valencia, Málaga, Zaragoza, and Bilbao as the franchise model scales locally.
Krispy Kreme also continues growth outside Spain. It will open two São Paulo locations before the end of 2025, one using the new shop design and one as a compact kiosk, both offering core and local flavors like dulce de leche and cinnamon sugar. The brand will debut in Tashkent in October through a franchise with Food Town Logistics-Group, LLC, and the franchisee plans to open more than 70 shops in Uzbekistan over the next five years. CEO Josh Charlesworth said these partnerships strengthen international presence and support efficient growth, so you can expect more global openings in the coming years.
