What You Need to Know

Arc’teryx opened a new store on Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice on October 3, and it’s the brand’s first store dedicated to climbing. It’s the fourth Arc’teryx location in Los Angeles and the fifth in Southern California. You’ll find Arc’teryx climbing apparel and equipment next to climbing products from other brands. The store is at 1116 Abbot Kinney Blvd and it’s open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

But the store does more than sell gear. A Grasshopper climbing wall opens for events, and local partner Long Beach Rising updates the routes and holds. The Beta Lounge has furniture from local studio WAKA WAKA, climbing guidebooks and current issues of Alpinist and Summit Journal. There’s an outdoor patio too, and the fixtures move so the floor can host films, workshops and talks. Arc’teryx worked with local climbing groups ABA and Long Beach Rising before the doors opened, and those partners will shape the store’s events.
