Distraction Glass vs Privacy Glass

Large glass walls and doors are a popular feature in the workplace as it brings in natural light and provides the illusion of an open concept with more space. In environments with lots of glass, it is not a bad idea to install Frosted Vinyl or Ultra Clear Cling on to the glass to prevent people from walking into windows and doors, this solution can also double as a marketing tool. Adding printed graphics onto the glass surfaces helps in providing a sense of privacy in spaces such as conference rooms, bathrooms, and offices.

Distraction Glass Film

Distraction Glass is a vinyl that makes windows and walls more visible by adding branding or pattern elements to a clear surface. Examples of this concept can be found at both the Ciellos and Latitude office buildings.

For Ciellos, we produced and installed an 150″W x 46″H Frosted Adhesive Vinyl for their conference room.

Window Privacy Film

Privacy Glass typically covers a majority of a glass surface and limits visibility into a space. Companies such as eSafety have achieved this effect using Frosted Vinyl.

Covering a door to the office, eSafety has a 22″W x 58″H contour cut Frosted Vinyl.

How to Install Privacy Window Film

The window film is applied using a semi-permanent adhesive backing that is easy to install and remove. Once the surface is cleaned, peel back the protective layer and smooth the film over the glass. Using a squeegee to eliminate any bubbles caught between the film and glass.
