We recently assisted Business Aviation Group with creating the concept and producing their tradeshow booth for the NBAA show in Las Vegas. Specializing in aviation real estate development they wanted a booth that incorporated backlit fabric and multiple TV mounts to create a modern, bright, welcoming booth space.
SEG light boxes and frame systems were the perfect solution to fit their needs. SEG stands for “Silicone Edge Graphic”, these light boxes use backlit fabric stretched over framing that is lit by LED light bars.
SEG Tradeshow Booth Concept
Working from a few supplied inspirational images we gave guidance to create a custom booth concept using SEG light boxes. After a phone discussions we created engineering and mockup drawings to bring their booth vision to life.
The final design included (from left to right):

- 1 – 120″w x 96″h x 1.7″d Accent Border Frame, Mounted with Stand Offs, Custom Powder Coated Red
- 4 – 8″w x 96″h Non-lit SEG Fabric Endcaps for Accent Border
- 2 – 8″w x 120″h Non-lit SEG Fabric Endcaps for Accent Border
- 1 – 72″w x 96″h x 8″d Freestanding, Double Sided, Non-lit SEG Frame with TV Monitor Mount, Non-lit SEG Fabric Print, and Backer Fabric
- 1 – 43″w x 91″h x 8″d Freestanding, Double-Sided, LED Light Box & Backlit SEG Fabric Print, and Backer
- 1 – 48″w x 96″h x 1.7″d Accent Border Frame, Mounted with Stand Offs, Custom Powder Coated Red
- 1 – 48″W X 96″H X 108″L Non-lit SEG Frame Archway, Double Sided, Custom Powder Coated Red, with Monitor Mount and Laptop Shelf
- 2 – 48″w x 96″h Non-lit SEG Fabric Prints for Inside and Outside of Archway
- 2 – 48″w x 100″h Non-lit SEG Fabric Prints for Top and Underside of Archway
Modular SEG Frame Construction
A key feature of the booth design is its ability to be used in different size booth spaces. All SEG frame and light box components can be used together for use in a 20ft x 10ft booth space, or separated into two 10ft x 10ft booths. This allows for easy reconfiguration and transportation to future tradeshows.
Custom Color Powder Coated SEG Light Boxes
Standard finishes for SEG frames and light boxes is silver, white, or black. For a more cohesive branded look they can be custom powder coated. Business Avaition Group chose to powder coat the accent border frames red to draw attention to this design detail. We then color matched the SEG fabric prints to the powder coated frame for a clean and continuous look.
TV Mount Options for SEG Tradeshow Booths
SEG offers multiple TV monitor mount options that can be integrated into the frame design. This allows for a variety of different TV sizes and configurations to be used in the booth. For this project we used two shadow box frames in higher traffic areas where spacing is tight, and a monitor mount where space allowed.
TV Monitor Mount for SEG Frames
Monitor mounts plates can be included in the internal frame structure with internal support bars. The TV or computer monitor is installed securing bolts through the mounting plate, small cut outs in the fabric graphic, and into the back of the screen. The screen sits in front of the graphic, and must be removed to change the graphic.
Shadow Box Trim Around TVs an Monitors in SEG Frames
By integrating reverse mitered frames you can create a shadow box within an SEG frame or light box. The shadow box allows space for a TV to be mounted flush with the edge of the SEG frame, or inset. This option allows you to change out the tension fabric print around it without having to remove the TV.
The most popular TV or monitor sizes are 43″, 55″, and 65″. These TV monitors can be mounted portrait or landscape orientation.
Monitor Mounts or Shadow Boxes can be created in any custom size. This allows for even more flexibility in integrating TV’s into your SEG frame or light box tradeshow booth design.
