Choosing eco-friendly signage is now easier than ever with our new sustainable silicone edge graphic fabric products. Our green SEG fabric solutions offer the same vivid and color-accurate print quality, now with environmentally-friendly fabric options that contribute to a lower carbon footprint. In this blog, we’ll take a look at the different options of sustainable SEG fabric, the benefits and how you can use these high-quality products to make your space stand out.

What is SEG Fabric?

SEG (silicone edge graphic) fabric is a high-quality and cost-effective signage solution that can be displayed many ways, from wall-mounted, ceiling-suspended, freestanding and double-sided applications. The name comes from the silicone edge sewn around the fabric graphic, which is inserted into a groove in the SEG frame to stretch the fabric drum-tight, creating a frameless appearance. SEG is used in a wide range of spaces, including sustainable retail displays, trade shows, airports, sporting events and more.

Types of Sustainable SEG Fabric

At 40 VISUALS, we focus on providing sustainable signage solutions, including two types of eco-friendly SEG fabrics: CleanRTex™ Soft Knit non-lit fabric and Premium Woven Backlit Fabric.

CleanRTex™ Soft Knit Fabric

Our CleanRTex™ Soft Knit fabric is a knit fabric used for non-lit SEG fabric prints. This fabric is made through the CleanRTex™ process, which is significantly more eco-friendly to produce (compared to a standard roll of SEG fabric). The fabric is printed using water-based inks and the silicone beading is made from recycled materials. In addition, the coating on the fabric used for printing, color and fire resistance are REACH-compliant.

Premium Woven Backlit Fabric

For backlit SEG projects, our Premium Woven Backlit Fabric is a perfect material option. Designed to diffuse light evenly, this woven fabric is recyclable and link the CleanRTex™ Soft Knit fabric, the fabric is printed using water-based inks and the silicone beading is made from recycled materials.

The CleanRTex™ Sustainable Manufacturing Process

Our CleanRTex™ fabrics are made with the environment in mind, taking textile manufacturing and printing a huge leap forward in eco-friendly signage. A standard roll of SEG fabric consumes 125 gallons while the CleanRTex™ roll uses only 12 gallons of water, reducing water usage by 90%. The fabric is also free of microplastics and made in the USA, resulting in no CO2 from overseas shipping.

40 VISUALS’ Commitment to Sustainability

At 40 VISUALS, sustainability isn’t just a feature of our products, it’s at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to reducing our ecological footprint across our business, from production to final product. Our sustainable SEG fabric is just one part of our broader effort to promote eco-friendly practices in the signage industry.
