What You Need to Know
Bass Pro Shops announced two new store openings as it continues to grow its footprint across the US. The bigger of the two is a 200,000-square-foot Outdoor World location in Sayreville, New Jersey, set to open this fall within the Riverton retail complex along the Raritan River. It will be the largest single-level Bass Pro Shops in the country and is anchored by a 65,000-gallon Shipwreck Aquarium, a 12,000-gallon ray touch pool, live jellyfish, an interactive Sketch Aquarium for kids and an immersive conservation-focused experience throughout. The store will also showcase boat brands from White River Marine Group and is expected to employ more than 300 people.
The second announcement is a 148,000-square-foot location coming to La Mesa at Grossmont Center to serve the greater San Diego region, expected to open in 2028. It will be Bass Pro Shops’ sixth California location and will feature a custom design inspired by the region’s outdoor heritage. Both stores follow the brand’s approach of combining retail with entertainment, outdoor education and conservation, treating each visit as more than a shopping trip.
