When you think of Swatch, you may picture bold colors, Swiss-made craftsmanship and a playful personality. The brand built a reputation on watches that offer style and quality at approachable prices. This brand identity carries through into their retail stores too, as in-store shopping allows shoppers to interact with products and become immersed in the brand as soon as they step inside. Because of that, your store signage plays a central role: it draws you in, guides you, and amplifies the look and feel of the product. With Swatch’s NEON campaign, we helped create signage that supports that physical interaction, visual merchandising and completes the shopping experience.

Visual Merchandising That Supports the Swatch Brand

Swatch launched in 1983 in Switzerland as a response to the quartz crisis, combining Swiss craftsmanship with affordability and creativity. Over time, the brand became known globally for accessible, design-driven watches that carry that Swiss heritage. In this campaign, Swatch rolled out their NEON watch collection and partnered with 40 VISUALS to support the retail store rollout at their boutique location at The Mall at Millenia in Orlando, Florida, among others. The project used custom signage elements, including adhesive vinyl, custom contour-cut freestanding substrate foam board, and more. This project turned the space into an immersive environment that reflects the vibrant NEON theme.

Creating an Immersive Visual Environment

To turn Swatch’s vision into a reality, we created custom freestanding substrate foam board displays for their rollout. These featured NEON text in bubble letters, stacked in bright neon orange, yellow, green and magenta, grabbing attention and reinforcing the campaign theme. Adhesive vinyl wrapped watch display cases with the bright and vibrant NEON campaign artwork. We used a microsphere technology that makes installation smoother and the removal cleaner, a key benefit in retail signage. SEG fabric graphics in a backlit lightbox with the NEON graphics create an immersive environment to further promote the campaign. With the custom signage, including retail store signage and interchangeable signage, the result supported the visual merchandising and retail store design goals of the brand.

How Signage Impacts Retail Brand Environments

Your in-store signage does more than decorate. It anchors the campaign, guides traffic, creates mood and encourages engagement. In a retail rollout, consistent signage across all elements ensures the environment supports the brand message. When you walk into that Swatch boutique, you feel the energy of the NEON campaign because of the cohesive visual approach: freestanding displays that stop you in your tracks, wrap graphics that bring the display case into the story, and SEG fabric lightboxes that envelope you in colour. These visual merchandising strategies elevate the shopping experience. By using custom signage and immersive visual elements, the signage becomes part of the store design rather than an afterthought.

The Swatch NEON graphics are bold, yet still consistent with the store’s visual merchandising.

Our collaboration with Swatch at The Mall at Millenia demonstrates how thoughtful signage transforms a retail store into a complete visual merchandising experience.
