What You Need to Know
Lululemon opened a 17,000 square foot flagship at Broadway and Spring Street in SoHo to serve as a template for new stores and remodels. The Vancouver based company is updating its store format as it refreshes product after revenue growth slowed even though sales topped $10 billion in 2024. The SoHo location uses richer colors, bespoke terrazzo floors, a hand formed tile staircase, hand carved timber joinery, and lighting that cycles through hues that recall the Vancouver sky. Designers added 3D printed benches that nod to New York subway stations and a white 3D printed entrance sculpture that repeats a curved motif throughout the space.
The store carries the brand’s full women’s and men’s assortments and is the first location to offer heat embossing on bag straps for personalization. Lululemon will use this store as a playbook as it modernizes and elevates its retail presence, and it plans to optimize 35 stores this year. The SoHo shop opens Thursday at 10 a.m., employs more than 100 associates called educators, and will bring the community together on opening day with a 5K that stops at pizza shops, so when you visit expect product, staff, and local events to be part of the experience.
