TAG Heuer has been a symbol of racing heritage and Swiss craftsmanship since 1860. With its strong ties to Formula 1 and motorsports, the watchmaking brand continues to attract luxury shoppers who expect more than a purchase. They expect an experience. Research shows that luxury consumers still prefer buying in-store, because the shopping experience allows them to connect more deeply with the brand and products. Retail store signage plays a major role in shaping that experience. For the new TAG Heuer boutique in Aventura Mall, our focus at 40 VISUALS was on creating custom signage and visual merchandising solutions that brought the brand’s energy into the physical environment.

From Concept to Completion with TAG Heuer

This project was a brand-new store opening that started with early drawings and wall layouts and carried all the way through to construction and signage installation. The store design puts motorsports at the center, reinforcing TAG Heuer’s partnership with Formula 1. At Aventura Mall in Aventura, Florida, the new boutique required a retail store design that matched the brand’s story while engaging shoppers in a competitive luxury market. Our role was to deliver retail signage that supported that vision, with a mix of non-lit and backlit SEG fabric displays, poster prints for a collage wall and sintra prints for counter displays.

Signage That Drives Retail Experiences

At the entrance, a large 60” by 110” SEG fabric lightbox was installed in the storefront window facing outward, featuring an attention-grabbing print from the “Designed to Win” Formula 1 campaign. This placement created an immediate positive impression for anyone passing by. Inside the store, two non-lit 30” by 50” SEG fabric frames display images of Formula 1 World Champions Max Verstappen and Ayrton Senna, linking the space to TAG Heuer’s motorsport heritage. A collage wall made up of poster prints celebrated the company’s craftsmanship and history, while sintra prints were used within cases to support product storytelling at the counter level. Together, these signage elements used SEG fabric graphics and interchangeable signage to give TAG Heuer the ability to refresh displays while keeping the environment consistent with the brand.

Signage Shapes the Luxury Retail Experience

In luxury retail, signage is more than decoration. It serves as part of the retail store design and influences how shoppers move, pause and engage. A well-placed SEG fabric lightbox can draw attention from outside, while custom signage such as posters or sintra prints enrich the space inside. Visual merchandising works best when the signage feels connected to the products and brand values. By aligning retail store signage with TAG Heuer’s motorsports identity, the Aventura boutique created a shopping experience that feels immersive and memorable.
