What You Need to Know

Walmart launched its 2025 holiday campaign inspired by Dr. Seuss, expanding the “Walmart. Who Knew?” platform into a town called WhoKnewVille. You’ll see a character named Mindy Lou Who wish for help with holiday shopping, then a shooting star delivers a mobile device that showcases Walmart’s app and wide assortment. The retailer worked with Dr. Seuss Enterprises and Publicis agencies to create the Seussian look and story beats that drive the spots.

The ads mix whimsy with clear product and price messaging. Walmart highlights items such as Apple AirPods, Nespresso machines, Madden NYC and Michael Kors apparel and even Pop Mart Labubu figurines, and it teases a Grinch appearance for Black Friday activations. You’ll find the campaign across TV, streaming, social and other channels, and Walmart is backing it with big discounts up to 60% in three sale phases: Nov. 14–16, Nov. 25–30 and Dec. 1, with Walmart+ members getting early access. The long ad has topped 9 million YouTube views and Walmart reported 4.8% revenue growth to $177.4 billion, with U.S. net sales up 4.8% to $120.9 billion.
