What You Need to Know

White Castle unveiled a new restaurant prototype called the “Castle of Tomorrow” near downtown Columbus. Working with local firm WD Partners, the company redesigned the space to reimagine the customer experience from start to finish. VP Jamie Richardson said the layout focuses on innovation, hospitality and helping team members work more efficiently. You’ll notice both self-service kiosks and a traditional front counter so you can choose how to order.

The prototype updates the dining room with higher ceilings and brighter colors, adds a kitchen designed for efficiency and ergonomics, and creates a separate walk-up counter for mobile-app orders. The drive-thru now has two lanes with hospitality doors where team members hand meals to guests in their cars. Outside, White Castle mixes classic castle architecture with modern accents and a sign that reads “White Castle” by day and changes to “Night Castle” after dark. White Castle has sold Sliders since 1921, operates 341 restaurants, and sells frozen products in retail stores nationwide.
