What You Need to Know
Best Buy opened a virtual store inside Fortnite’s Drive City, an open-world roleplay experience where players can walk in, explore different departments and take on a Best Buy quest. Inside the store, you can find mini-games on an in-store TV, use a photo booth to locate nearby collectibles, visit a Geek Squad area and control the music from a boom box. To complete the Best Buy quest, you search the Drive City map for collectible Best Buy Tags and bring them back to a Best Buy employee inside the store. Return 10 tags and you earn Best Buy Back Bling plus in-game currency and XP. Return 20 and you unlock the Best Buy Grappler, which carries over across play sessions.
The experience is accessible through three island codes covering Drive City, a Meet Up proximity chat map and a Toy Box FFA map. You can find Best Buy on Fortnite on mobile, Nintendo Switch, PC and other consoles. The launch is tied to the start of a new Fortnite season and positions Best Buy directly inside one of gaming’s most active platforms.
