Why Car Wash Exterior Signage Matters

In the highly-competitive and growing car wash market, proper signage plays a key role in a car wash’s success. Signage that stands out helps customers find you, creates a positive experience, informs customers of pricing and packages, and strengthens brand identity.

Vinyl brick wrap and a two-tone exterior paint job makes the All American Car Wash stand out to drivers on the busy Brahma Boulevard in Kingsville, TX.

Freedom From A Dirty Car

All American Car Wash in Kingsville, TX wanted to overhaul their building into a work of art. What was once primarily an aqua-colored building now sports a wavy two-tone blue and white paint job with vinyl brick wrap branding. The company’s name and slogan were added to each side of the building, making the building easily recognizable from all angles. Blue soap bubbles measuring 6, 8 and 10 inches wide were also installed around the exit of each wash bay along with wayfinding signs, helping customers find the entrance of the two stationary wash bays and vacuum area. The elements were printed on clear vinyl and cut to shape, using a heat-applied installation process that firmly adheres the vinyl to the brick while preserving the unique texture of the brick.

An Alternative to Full Building Brick Wrap

An alternative to a full exterior vinyl brick wrap is to use separate vinyl brick wrap elements cut to shape and placed on the wall strategically, similar to this example. The two-tone exterior paint is part of the design and works together with the bubbles, exterior signage and wayfinding signs to create a cohesive and uniform look. Aside from any paint expenses, this can be a more cost-effective alternative to a full brick wrap by using fewer print materials and also requiring less time for installation.

4 Ways Signage Helps Car Washes Get More Customers

Signage is one of the most important investments for car washes and detail shops. Here’s why.

Helps New Customers Find Your Business

Signage that stands out helps attract new customers in the area and communicates who you are and what you do. It also makes it easy for customers to locate your business and reassures customers that they are in the right place.

Assists Customers in Navigating Around Your Business

Car wash wayfinding signs are highly effective and help customers save time and hassle when navigating the premises. Signs such as where to enter, where to exit and how to pay provide direction and guidance, so customers can easily find their way around your business.

Informs Customers About Pricing and Packages

Signage and graphics are also beneficial in helping customers identify which package they need. Having large, easy-to-read signage with each car wash package offered eliminates confusion for the customer and can also be a valuable tool for upselling higher-level packages. It is also a great opportunity to advertise any wash bundles, unlimited monthly plans and loyalty programs.

Creates a Positive Brand Identity

In addition to everything else, signage helps make a statement about your brand. Through the use of effective signage, you can create a powerful first impression, unforgettable experience and keep customers coming back again and again.
