What You Need to Know

Stanley has launched a take-back program that lets customers recycle their used steel and stainless steel products for free, reinforcing its long-standing “Built for Life” sustainability promise. Shoppers can visit the Stanley 1913 website to register their items, print a prepaid shipping label or generate a QR code, and send back up to four eligible products per year. In return, participants receive a $5 discount toward a future purchase. For each item returned, Stanley’s parent company, PMI WW Brands, will also donate $5 to the Ocean Conservancy, supporting ocean protection efforts.

The initiative aims to reduce waste and promote a circular economy by giving old products a second life instead of sending them to landfills. Stanley joins other major brands like Patagonia, Timberland, Crocs, and The North Face in launching take-back programs that encourage product reuse and recycling. The company says the effort expands its sustainability mission by making it easier for customers to act responsibly while staying connected to the brand.
