What You Need to Know
Uniqlo is ramping up its U.S. retail expansion with 11 new store openings planned for spring/summer 2026, marking a major milestone as the brand celebrates 20 years in New York City. The Japanese retailer will debut flagship stores in Chicago and San Francisco—its first outside New York—and add four new NYC locations in Williamsburg, Union Square, the World Trade Center, and Bryant Park. Additional openings are planned in Boston, Seattle, Maryland, and Washington, D.C.
CEO Fuminori Adachi said the growth reflects Uniqlo’s “thoughtful expansion” approach, emphasizing quality, local connection, and customer experience. Each store will include RFID self-checkout, on-site alterations, and Re:Uniqlo donation bins, while select locations will feature UTme! customization and Re:Uniqlo Studios for repairs and embroidery. The announcement follows new store openings in the U.K. as Uniqlo continues to build on its LifeWear philosophy—offering timeless, functional clothing while deepening community ties across its 2,500 global stores.
